From an early age, creativity and art have been a huge part of my life. I grew up sketching and painting for enjoyment, but it wasn’t until my late 20s that I decided to take an art foundation course at Bournville School of Art in Birmingham. I subsequently joined an art group, of which I am still a member, and began to exhibit my work. Around the same time I started to develop my jewellery-making skills, taking a course in silversmithing which I attended for a number of years.

As time went by, I found myself more and more interested in the natural world, as a subject for both painting and jewellery. In particular, I am fascinated by the shapes, textures and colours found in nature, and the British coast and countryside is a constant source of inspiration. My work is now largely focused on capturing the beauty of these rich environments.

Outside of art, I work with my husband in property renovation, which also brings out my creative side!  I have a son, and two stepsons, and we currently live in Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands (though I am secretly hoping to ‘escape to the country’ sometime soon!) I love reading crime fiction (more Agatha Christie than gritty realism!) and of course, walking in the country.
